Furusato is a restaurant with an elegant facade in Tahlia street and great set-up outside perfect for dining al-fresco (weather permitting). The restaurant is set on the upper floor; small rooms accommodate individual groups where the food is cooked right in front of you. This is definitely an experience worth trying.
We ordered a platter of Sushi and Sashimi, always a great starter. We really enjoyed our Salmon Sashimi and Shrimp tempura. We also sampled the shrimp yakisoba, vegetable fried rice, and beef teriyaki. Seeing the chef cook the dishes at your table is a great sight; watching his amazing display of knife skills and mixing all the colorful ingredients was almost as enjoyable as the meal.
Our Beef Teriyaki was particularly tender, and the vegetables were perfectly done, crunchy – not overcooked. While some might say the prices are a little steep compared to other Sushi venues in town, the live cooking experience more than makes up for this. Perfect for families and large groups. We will certainly be back to Furusato, their set meals caught our eye, and if that wasn’t enough there’s also ‘Lecluse’, a French restaurant below sharing the same space, and for those that cant make up their minds, we are told it is possible to order from both menus. Two thumbs up!Furusato,
