Furusato is a restaurant with an elegant facade in Tahlia street and great set-up outside perfect for dining al-fresco (weather permitting). The restaurant is set on the upper floor; small rooms accommodate individual groups where the food is cooked right in front of you. This is definitely an experience worth trying.
We ordered a platter of Sushi and Sashimi, always a great starter. We really enjoyed our Salmon Sashimi and Shrimp tempura. We also sampled the shrimp yakisoba, vegetable fried rice, and beef teriyaki. Seeing the chef cook the dishes at your table is a great sight; watching his amazing display of knife skills and mixing all the colorful ingredients was almost as enjoyable as the meal.
Our Beef Teriyaki was particularly tender, and the vegetables were perfectly done, crunchy – not overcooked. While some might say the prices are a little steep compared to other Sushi venues in town, the live cooking experience more than makes up for this. Perfect for families and large groups. We will certainly be back to Furusato, their set meals caught our eye, and if that wasn’t enough there’s also ‘Lecluse’, a French restaurant below sharing the same space, and for those that cant make up their minds, we are told it is possible to order from both menus. Two thumbs up!
Furusato,

Sushi and specials are great. Try the furusato special.
GREAT food, freshly prepared and served to perfection. friendly staff and great location. inside and outside eating options. the prices are excellent and the choice is great. you cant go wrong. theres something for everyone. the salmon, tuna philidephia rolls, the prawn tempura and i could go on. if you like this style of food then dont waste your time with any other restaurant – just go to furusato
Me and my friends from Dammam had a great time in this Japanese restaurant – Furusato. We ordered 3 different Tepanyaki(s) and watching their very entertaining chef was one of the best experiences ever. My friends and I even tried cooking while, wearing Furusato’s Apron and hat… Very good food at a very reasonable price in addition to friendly staff… What more can you ask for!
Service and atmosphere is great. However, for sushi. I find this place seriously lacks in quality and taste.
The sashimi was fine, but any kind of maki was truly horribly made. Cut into huge portions, rice wasn’t pressed properly and the seaweed was cracking and breaking apart.
Never again.
We ate here once during my birthday in 2008 and I find it overrated. we ordered the Furusato special just to find out lated that there’s nothing really special in it. Its just stir fried mixed seafood. Very expensive and not really worth it.
