A nationwide Sushi chain, Sushi Yoshi will be familiar to residents of both Jeddah, and Riyadh. The luminous orange and green logo is hard to forget, as is their sushi which is surprisingly good for such a large and well established chain. If you’re a fan of Wasabi, try the Volcano Maki, not to be taken lightly!
Sushi Yoshi,

Still the best sushi in town for the price n taste. But i have to try samurai first.
i love Sushi Yoshi, i’ve been here twice already and i have to regrest tasting their good food, most especially the Maki, i love those sushi and more…
if you are interested looking for fine dinning, i have the recommendation of this restaurant.
I went in with a friend for lunch after a few people recommended the place to us. We’ve both had sushi before from our travels, so we’ve had both mediocre bland sushi and some extremely good memorable sushi.
At first glance we felt it was a nice elegant place to dine. Our first order had a number of maki rolls, sashimi and drinks(they never came). The sashimi and other sushi was warm to the touch (it had been handled too much). The fish wasn’t particularly fresh, some of the sashimi was coming apart. The maki rolls were more palatable but were drowned in cream cheese or mayonnaise, we couldn’t taste the fish because of the cream/mayo. After we were done we spent around 10 minutes trying to get the waiter’s attention. Then we asked about our drinks and ordered some hand rolls and tempura. This time we got our drinks but got no ice despite having ordered it along the drinks. The hand rolls were the same as the other maki rolls. The vegetable tempura was raw. After that my friend and I had had it and couldn’t bear anything else. Waited another 10 minutes for the waiter to bring our cheque so we walked over to the counter paid and left.
Our experience was just abysmal, service was bad and food was too. I’d understand if it was during a busy lunch hour but we were only 2 people out of 6-8 other patrons. With 3 waitstaff, 2 chefs and a receptionist it was overstaffed and poorly serviced.
Would I recommend it to people? A resounding NO!
I may be willing to give it anther chance in a few months down the line but I doubt that it’ll get any better.
For those who’ve said that this is the best quality sushi in Riyadh need to get their facts checked.
Please make the decision yourself and compare this to Tokyo.
They both offer good quality Sushi, however Sushi Yoshi is slightly off in some of their choices.
It may be the best Sushi at a budget level. That’s about it.
My husband and I love it so much ~~~~~~~~
There is no doubt that Sushi Yoshi is the best quality sushi in Riyadh. But the service is rather slow and not so welcoming in all my 4 visits.
Prices are exaggerated and the delivery service is slow with a fee.
If you want sushi in Riyadh, this is the only place to go in my book. Just bring your charge or credit cards!
This is the best sushi in Riyadh, hands down:
From Anthurium restaurant. I don’t think it is listed on the menu; you have to ask for it from the waiter..
I have to totally agree with Jan ,, Sushi Yoshi is soooooo full of options , delicious ones i tell ya !
Their Shrimp Tempura is mouth watering, I order two dishes all for myself [' ',] << I suggest this as starters :*
For Sushi beginners I would recommend my favorites :
- Aloha :: delicious , with mango in it ,, don't worry it won't taste totally like mangoes, it is exquisite <3
- Warm & Tender : choose crab, it is amazing.
- California Regular : it is amazing, tastes like heaven :*
- New yorker :: if you love cheese, you'll like this one
- Free me please :: <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3
- Mao Tao :: just order this one :*
I would also advise you try their Beef Teriyaki, it's lovely ..
Aaaah, Sushi Yoshi. I always sigh when I pass by this Japanese restaurant in Dabab St. I want to eat there every day and I promise, I will not get tired of their food.
Sushi Yoshi has reinvented sushi in my book. Their unique and unusual spin on their sushi and maki has captivated me since the first time I ate there. I dialed their home delivery a few times already and even though their driver always gets lost in finding our building (which is quite near by the way), that doesn’t dissuade me from ordering again. As a matter of fact, I visited Sushi Yoshi again recently. If you don’t know where it is, then you’re probably just blinded by the neon orange and green signs they have. That, or their signage is not lit up. Anyway, I like Sushi Yoshi’s modern but sparse interiors. I like their long and ‘sexy’ black chairs. The table is a little bit small for three people but if there are no other patrons around, transferring to longer ones is not prohibited. And have you seen their menu? It is phenomenal! Okay, the orangeness of it gets in the eyes and tires it but look at it! No, read it! They provide a story of Sushi Yoshi, a man who loves to eat raw fish, with his 7 children whose names always end with ‘son’. Each category in the menu is named after a son. For example, Maki Son, Nigiri Son, Sushi Son, Hoso Son, etc. and each comes with a drawing of a funky, hip boy and equally interesting attributes (like age and hobbies). So cool! The kids would love these characters.
On my first visit, I spent the entire prayer time perusing the menu and I still couldn’t give the waiter a straight answer after they opened. Good thing, my frequent trips to Sushi Yoshi already yielded ‘favorites’, the same ones I picked during this recent visit. First was the refreshing, crisp mixed salad. It’s loaded with battered salmon and strips of fresh lettuce, drizzled with a tangy, creamy sauce. And then came the shrimp tempura. It was crunchy and light; the shrimp not dominated by batter. The sublime salmon sashimi and the Volcano Sushi arrived together in a wooden tray. The sashimi, for two pieces, is expensive especially when I know I can re-create this by buying fresh salmon in the huge supermarkets but I was feeling ‘rich’ at the moment and ordered anyway. Volcano Sushi took me by surprise as usual, the delicate aroma and sweet undertones of the wasabi enhanced the overall flavor of this one. Though I will take caution if I were you because this will make you teary-eyed and gasping for water. I found the Chicken Curry and Tanindon (beef with egg) rather expensive but I must admit I’m a fan of these dishes. The former was served with a silky sauce, crunchy veggies, and a few pieces of chicken and the latter was served with a raw egg sitting on top of tender beef slices. The viands lay on beds of white rice. The only downer in Sushi Yoshi is their lack of dessert and variety of juices.
Some might say that food in Sushi Yoshi is expensive and they are but so far, no other Japanese place in Riyadh has beaten Sushi Yoshi in the ‘Most Original and Creative’ sushi category. They also win ‘Best in Variety.’ As a matter of fact, I really think you’ll get stumped when you look at their menu on your visit so let me help you with some wonderful choices that I’ve tried. Try Hot&Running, Godzilla, Crazy California, Mao Tao, and Exotica. Better yet, try all of Sushi Yoshi’s smorgasbord of tasty and delicious Japanese food! Not in one sitting, of course!
